If this is if your first time to Jive World, you're in for a treat. This conference is for customers and features customers sharing what they've learned about the Jive platform and implementing it. There's so much goodness packed into 2-3 short days that it can be a bit overwhelming.
Here are some tips to help make the most of the conference this year.
Download the JiveWorld app
The app is critical for helping you narrow down the sessions you want to attend and find out where to go for all Jive-related events. Click here to download the app now.
Study the session agenda and make a plan
If you're attending JiveWorld for the first time, we highly recommend you skim through the agenda, tracks, and sessions before you get to Vegas. This will help you determine how to best map out your game plan so you don't miss a session you were really looking forward to. Determine where you are in your customer journey. Either pick a track and stick with it the whole way, or mix and match based on the topics you're most interested in.
If you're going with other colleagues, split up so that you can cover more ground. Don't worry if you miss a session - recordings will be posted in the Jive Community. Click here to view the full agenda.
Make connections in advance and during the conference
This is your opportunity to connect with community managers, technologists, designers, developers and much more. Be sure to update your profile in the Jive Community. Follow people who are speaking at the sessions you're interested in. Use your Twitter account (or create one) so you can follow the online conversations throughout the conference.
Tip: Follow @social_edge for updates from the Social Edge team at JiveWorld - including live tweets from different sessions!
Show & Tell
During the breaks or right after a session, one of the best things you can do is do a show & tell of your community with other customers that you meet. You might come up with new ideas, or solve a business problem right on the spot! Share your goals, ideas and questions about Jive and your community.
Check out the Advanced Track Sessions
Even if the community you're managing is less than a few years old, you'll want to hear what community managers for more mature communities are talking about. Plan to attend a few of the advanced track sessions that are focused on: advanced engagement techniques, measuring to prove business value, integrating community into your digital strategy, using community to drive innovation and spam prevention best practices.
For additional information, check out this session planning guide in the Jive Community.
Visit the Exhibitors Hall
Both Jivers and Jive partners will be in the hall, eager to answer your questions and show you more about the product, enhancements and more. Don't forget to stop by the Social Edge Booth - G3 - and get to know some of the people on our team!
Take a Break
Even the most engaged extrovert will get tired. Attending JiveWorld can be an almost 24/7 experience of networking, attending events and talking nonstop. Since you're indoors for most of this conference, take a sunshine break. Even if it's just to walk to the Bellagio fountains and back, or sit outside by a pool for 15 minutes, you'll feel more energized afterwards.
Dress to Impress
Last but not least, the close out party at JiveWorld usually has a photo booth at the nightclub. If you're looking for the perfect new profile photo or avatar for your community, this is your chance to have memorable, yet professional photo taken. Here's a photo of the Social Edge team at the JW14 photo booth.
